Waste Management Training

Waste while often considered as a part of an organisation’s environmental management, is a subject in its own right. With waste legislation and duty of care to consider as well as identifying and managing waste streams from procurement to disposal, if it is to be effective you need to understand it.

Our waste management training is where ever practical tailored to your needs and designed to provide the delegates with the information and skills they need. The emphasis is on education rather than instruction, in order to understand the “why” as well as what is expected.

Course content can be discussed and agreed in advance and is often informed from a waste management review, and can cover, for example:

  • What is waste?
  • Waste legislation and Duty of Care
  • Waste and waste streams (e.g.)
    • General waste;
    • Recyclable waste;
    • Electrical and Electronic waste;
    • Hazardous waste;
    • Clinical waste; and
    • Food waste;
  • The waste hierarchy
  • Waste management strategies
  • Enforcement and waste
  • Waste objectives and targets
  • Contractor Management and waste
  • Sustainable procurement

CPD certificates are issued to all participants on completion of the training and competency checks and tests can also be provided. What could you be eliminating, reducing, reusing, recycling or disposing of with your waste management training?
