Have a safe and merry Christmas

A brief trawl of the internet identifies some of these as:

  • 2.6 million people fall while hanging up decorations;
  • 600,000 people roasting chestnuts over an open fire have burned themselves;
  • Nearly 50% of people preparing Christmas food have suffered accidents (including the 10% of people who spill hot fat on themselves);
  • Approx 1 in 50 people fall out of the loft;
  • 26 people died (between 1997 and 2010) from watering their Christmas tree with the lights on and over 1 in 40 people have suffer an electric shock caused by badly wired Christmas lights.

With some simple planning the vast majority of them could be easily avoided, leaving the wrong sized jumper you got as the biggest Christmas accident. In looking to stay safe this Christmas, some good advice includes:
