I joined Assurity Consulting in January 2020 as a Trainee Consultant, straight after graduating from university where I studied biology. I knew I wanted to pursue a position related to my biology degree - but I was also looking for a varied role that included travel, a variety of social engagement and a good scope for progression. The Graduate Consultant role at Assurity Consulting ticked all the boxes!
I began my training with Assurity Consulting just as the COVID-19 pandemic was unfolding. Whilst this was not the most ideal of circumstances, I learnt very quickly how supportive and adaptable everyone within the company is. Throughout this difficult time, I continued to be supported in my training, and I qualified as a fully-fledged Consultant in July 2020. I am now competent to deliver Workplace Environmental Assessments, and Legionella Risk Assessments.
The Consultant role has taken me all over the UK, and no two days are the same. In 2022 I had the opportunity to be an exhibitor with the company at the Facilities Show, held at the ExCeL in London. Not only did I have the chance to network with existing customers, prospects, and gain potential opportunities for the company, but I also had a brilliant time socialising and partying with my colleagues during the evening events.
When I first joined the company as a young graduate, I had a licence to drive but had never owned a car. The company car. The company car given to consultants was a life saver for me financially; a brand new car, fuel card with petrol paid for, and my insurance is taken care of. All of these are things that I would have struggled to afford on my own, so it is a great benefit of the role.
What makes working for Assurity Consulting the best fun is the people. I do believe that colleagues can make or break job satisfaction, and the people at Assurity really do make it.
