Laura Mintram, Senior Consultant, Assurity Consulting

I have been with Assurity Consulting since October 2015 and was promoted to Senior Consultant in June 2019. I deliver several of the services Assurity Consulting offers, including Workplace Environmental Assessments, Food Safety Audits, Health and Safety Assessments, Health and Safety Support and Combined Assessment Reports. I have attended the Facilities Show and the ISBA (Independent Bursars Association) to represent the company.

For me, the best thing about working for Assurity Consulting is the flexibility and trust given as a Consultant. I am not micro-managed, but my Manager and Deputy Manager are only on the end of the phone should I need them. Also, the opportunity for continuous personal development is something which is rare in a lot of companies. The company will support you to develop and grow as much as you want to as long as you work hard and maintain a positive attitude. I find it really rewarding meeting new people all the time and helping companies improve their working environment. I also love the flexibility of the job, you are trusted to do your work when works best for you, in order to maintain a work-life balance.

I have learnt far too much throughout my time here to write in one paragraph! I particularly enjoyed completing my qualifications including NEBOSH (both general health and safety and fire safety) and level 4 Award in Managing Food Safety in Catering. You must manage your time and prioritise work which is an essential skill in any job. I have definitely developed my health and safety knowledge and my interpersonal skills continue to develop when meeting a variety of different people.
