Assurity Consulting's Corporate Responsibility so far in 2024

At Assurity Consulting we understand the importance of the wellbeing of our amazing employees, so we focus on collaborative events in and around the office, all aimed at making work life enjoyable and supportive for everyone.

Over the last 6 months we’ve held events ranging from a pub quiz to workplace massage, ice-cream vans, food trucks and wellbeing walks. We want to give everyone the opportunity to get involved, so we try to provide as much variety as possible.

“It’s so lovely to work for a company were a positive culture and employee wellbeing is taken so seriously” – Ciara, Marketing Coordinator

In January, to give people a boost of energy we hosted a virtual wellbeing session on maximise energy through nutrition to help people if they were fighting fatigue, and to enhance the feel-good factor our team donated tins of food for Horsham Matters, a local charity who collect food for those who need it within our local community.

We held two massage day in the office, all the slots were filled and there was a zen office atmosphere throughout the day! This perk allows employees to unwind with a quick, soothing massage, helping us to ease any stress and keep everyone feeling their best.

In February and July, we held business plan reviews and gave our team lunch at the Roffey Park Institute, another great way for updating our team on the business and for time out to socialise together.

We have had two lunchtime food trucks at the office so far this year, Scandilicious who served a ‘taste of Sweden’ and Gourmet Burgers – positive feedback was received from the team on both occasions!

The summerly ice cream truck returned to the office too, and new to 2024, Les and his van will be coming to us three times! It is such a great way to take a break and socialise with colleagues, it’s event better when the sun is shining!

To support the local environment, we took a team of employees who used their make a difference day (a paid day each employee has annually to support a charity of their choice) to support the Arundel Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust (WWT). The team spent the day clearing a chalk bank of unwanted plant species to maintain the butterfly banks. A team also spent a day at Springboard, a local charity for children. We cut back their garden, repaired some of the areas around their sports section to make it a more appealing space.

In line with the Paris Olympics, Ciara, Marketing Coordinator and Jamie, Apprentice Consultant organised and ran our very own ‘Assurity Consulting Office Olympics’, a fun and competitive series of games that took place every lunch for a week. Employees kindly donated games and sporting equipment, and the weather was kind to us and shone most days. We had events such as Table Tennis, Target Shooting, Badminton, Golf and Football, and all the events boosted morale, gave people the opportunity to learn a new skill, and the events added some fun to the workday! Some employees needed a bit of encouragement to join in, but when they did, they really enjoyed the events.

“The office Olympic Games were a great way to involve colleagues across the business in a bit of fun as well as getting outside in the sun! They were very well organised with a good variety of activities to take part in. They are made even better if you win two gold medals!” Jamie, Consultancy Services Deputy Manager

These initiatives are all part of our ongoing commitment to creating a positive and engaging work environment. We believe that a happy and engaged employees in a relaxed office space creates a productive workforce, and these events are just one way that makes Assurity Consulting a great place to work!
