As well as supporting our customers in keeping their buildings, employees, and general public safe, we like to support the wellbeing of our employees and local community outside of just the expert advice we offer. Whether this is with a social event, or one of our charity ‘Make a Difference Days’. Now, we look at a breakdown of what we achieved in the last quarter!
We’ve held plenty of social events for our people these last few months, from food van events, and cakes to celebrate contract renewals at our office - to a segway experience, fencing event, and golf challenge! We also held our annual summer party, which was complete with food, drink, and entertainment such as a caricaturist, photobooth, a DJ, and putting on the green! We’ve also held wellbeing events such as a workplace massage with At Work Wellbeing, and two wellbeing walks.
We’ve also enabled our people to support our local community as well. Each year, every employee receives one paid day to support a charity of their choice: a ‘Make a Difference Day’. We have held three organised 'Make a Difference Days' for our employees to attend in the last quarter – for Springboard, Olive Tree Cancer Support in Crawley, and the YMCA in Horsham!
Our teams supported Springboard and Olive Tree Cancer Support by tidying up their gardens ready to be enjoyed by visitors in the summer, and worked with YMCA to create a mural alongside the residents – based on their ideas! We really enjoy getting out and giving our time to support our local community, and the causes that matter to our people most.
I just wanted to say a massive thank you for Friday, it was so lovely to have the team out again and you all achieved so much! The garden looks great and we couldn’t have done it without all of your help.
– Vickie Harvey, Fundraising and Communications Manager
It was as ever a pleasure to have you here. The garden looks lovely today in the sunshine. Many thanks for all you have done for us.
- Marylin Drury, Information Manager at Olive Tree Cancer Care
We’ve done plenty of fundraising too – from sponsoring an Assurity Consulting team to take part in the St Catherine’s Hospice Midnight Walk, holding a fundraising afternoon tea in our office, and organising a bag collection in aid of Chestnut Tree House and St Barnabas House! In total, we have raised an incredible £2,746 this year already – and are well on our way to our £3250 fundraising target!
Such brilliant efforts made by the Assurity team - thank you so so much!
– Ella Pilkington, Corporate Business Development Executive at Chestnut Tree House.
And finally, we’ve been getting further involved supporting local education. From delivering workshops on our expert knowledge free of charge at the University of Brighton and College of St Richard Collyers, to supporting the Collyers Challenge of Management Day, and mock interviews at Tanbridge House School – education is important to us at Assurity Consulting. We also had two students from The Forest School and Oriel Highschool join us for their work experience!
With five months left of the year to go, we’re looking forward to what we’re doing next. We’re hopeful we can absolutely smash our fundraising target, and we’re excited for the social, wellbeing, and charity events we have in the pipeline!
