Employability Sessions


The course is believed to currently be the first in the country and is mainly run for students who have had to drop a subject but are still more than capable of continuing with their college education. The sessions increase their learning hours so that they are able to do so.Mock Interview

Ian, our HR and Business Support Manager, supported by Lara, our Marketing Coordinator, have attended a variety of sessions to teach the students a range of employability skills. In 2017 sessions were held on writing CVs and covering letters and the more recent sessions have included Q&A sessions, three-way interviews and mock interviews.

Over the sessions the group were given a fictitious job role and followed the process of applying for it, including submitting a CV and covering letter as well as being interviewed for the job.  

On the interview day, four of our Deputy Managers came in to interview the students and selected winners for the best interviews, the best dressed, the best CV and the best question.


On the 20th April, Lara returned to the college to award prizes to the winners. She commented, “We are so proud of the students and it is great to see how much their confidence and skills have grown since the beginning of the course. They performed superbly on interview day and were keen to learn new ideas. They were dressed extremely professionally and formed a strong first impression with our Deputy Managers.”Mock Interviews

Assurity Consulting have employed five of their apprentices from the College of Richard Collyer so continuing the relationship with them is very important. We look forward to supporting them again in the next school year.
